I think I got screwed, again. Took my 2008 Malibu in to verify that I had a right front wheel bearing that was bad, and making noises. The mechanic inspected it, and said it was definately bad, and needed to be replaced. I showed them that my insurance I got when I bought the car, last June, covered the wheel bearing. Had to wait for over a week to get the part in. They called me and said to bring my car in on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Got there at 9AM, and it took them about 2 hours to complete the work. The total bill came to $707.45, and the third party, which was the extended service contract, paid $402.99. I was stuck with paying the balance of $304.46. ...I think this is very unjust, and unfair!

The last two time I have brought my vehicle in for maintenance I was told what it would cost when dropping it off and both times it has been 200.00 to 250.00 more. It is disappointing that I have to get a printed quote in order to actually get the cost. I would think someone looking at the service would be able to give an accurate price when asked. This last visit I asked why it was so different then what is was told and the individual stammered and struggled to communicate and finally said huh it looks like it was more. I will just get everything on paper. Sad to see chipman and taylor become like every other dealership. I have never had this type of service over decades of using your service. Just provide accurate pricing. I use you because I trust you. This makes me worry that the new ownership is eroding what make your dealership so great.

The work itself was completed great; the customer service and communication were not great. My car sat there for 3wks during the dialogistic phase. I finally called to figure out what was wrong, and they still had not looked at it. Finally got an answer, a couple of days later, as to what was going on and a new fuel pump needed to be ordered. I was told they would contact me when the part came in, in a week. 2 weeks went by, and I had to call back to see if the part arrived. It was there and the person I spoke with could not tell me why I was not contacted sooner. I was scheduled for 7/2 in the morning. I was reassured that I would have my car back same day-I was worried about not getting it back before the holiday weekend. Nothing from the dealership on 7/2-I called them 7/3 morning and my car 'was next in line' to be fixed. I expressed how frustrated I was about the lack of communication from the start. Needless to say, I had my car back by 2pm on 7/3.

Brandon was rude. I brought in a key and key fob that had GM package and stamp on key. When I picked up the key, I brought it to the car and it did not start the Camaro. I brought it to Brandon and he took it to the technician who stated the key was a service key and didn’t have the chip to program the key. I was told I would have to order a key with the chip and have it programmed. I asked if there would be another programming fee. He said yes and I said the program fee I was just charged isn’t what I wanted. I wanted a workable key. He said I shouldn’t have purchased a key from someone other than Chipman and that they did their job programming. Later I spoke with my wife BJ and she believes she did order the fob/key through Chipman. Brandon was rude in his explanation and did not check his records to see if key was purchased through them and didn’t even know of the service key option until he talked to his technician. I asked why would someone just want a remote programmed if the key doesn’t start the car. He said for valet which doesn’t even make sense if they can’t move the car. In addition, the bill contained a 12.00 fee for unknown reason. I brought in the key/remote for programming. There was no environmental disposal or waste.

My husband made the appointment. It was all a bit weird. Air filter replacement cost $70, I was told we needed it to be replaced instead of being shown & asked if I wanted it to be replaced along with a quote. After 2 hours of waiting in person when the oil change was done, I was in the waiting room, but my husband was called instead of me. I was literally the only person waiting. While I waited, I got to hear all about the internal office coffee politics, who makes it right, who doesn’t, and what needs to be done about it. Would love to keep supporting Chipman but we’re not going back.

Service was done timely, but I will never be back for this service again. Astronomical bill for my oil change was ridiculous. Almost $500.00 for oil change on my new pickup. Are you kidding me!!!! For the price we pay for a brand new truck, I would certainly think you could allow free oil changes or discounted at least. Was completely shocked when I saw the bill. Won’t be back!

Onstar system was reprogrammed but apparently no one checked to see if it actually worked afterwards. The equinox EV did not connect to OnStar to the internet. GPS doesn't work and nor do the apps
